Some Surrey Boroughs will start concessionary bus fares at 9:00am.

Surrey County Council have finally implemented the concessionary bus fares scheme for the elderly that starts at 9:30am. If the elderly have no alternative personal transport, being able to have an early appointment at the doctors, dentist or hospital is a real benefit.

We welcome the U-turn by some Surrey Boroughs and Districts to start the concessionary bus fares scheme at 9am instead of 9.30am. The Liberal Democrats will continue to press for Reigate & Banstead Borough Council to start the scheme at 9am for the benefit of our elderly residents.
