Despite the campaigning of two local groups and media pressure, this popular paddling pool has been covered over with earth. Tory Councillor Rob Ellingham, (Chipstead, Hooley & Woodmansterne) made the decision to do away with the kiddies pool without any consultation with local Councillors. This Tory Council will only consider replacing this water feature in the Priory Park if a Lottery bid is successful. That is by no means definite and is likely to be years away.

The sign at the entrance to the park still says that a paddling pool is available.

Priory Park is in the Tory controlled Reigate Central ward, but your local Lib Dem FOCUS team will be monitoring and reporting on any progress.
